I've just finished high school, and I do not yet have my results. In the break between high school and college I want to get a job so I'll have something to put on my CV in future. However, I have very severe shyness and I can't face not being with people I know. Also, I am not very good with social skills and I fear being seen as weird by my colleagues. So, I would love to get a job (and my mum is pressuring me) but I find it so hard, but I can't talk to my mum about it. Any tips for coping with shyness?

I am in middle school, and I am a very shy person. My shyness holds me back from doing many different things. I stress way too much over what other people think and say, and I want to develop a "thicker skin". I am tired of always wanting to say something, and while I'm sitting there debating whether I should say it or not my chance has already passed by, and it would be no point at all to even say it anymore. Please help me! How do I get rid of shyness and become more outgoing? How to not care how other perceive me? Thanks to everybody who answers!
